Plano Independent School District is expanding Plano West Senior High School’s athletic facilities, adding 53,000 square feet to the existing Building D Competition Gym. This extension will feature two new Practice Gymnasiums designed to better accommodate indoor sports teams at Plano West, provide ample seating for spectators, and serve as a storm shelter for the school. A reoriented building entry welcomes visitors into the inviting and spacious new lobby, complete with upgraded amenities. The extension will also house a new Training Room equipped with the latest fitness and rehabilitation equipment, and a comprehensive second-story Weight Room for strength and conditioning. The project includes new locker rooms for boys’ sports and offices for the coaching staff. The women’s athletic facilities will be housed in a newly reimagined athletics wing of Building A.

The outdoor athletic facilities upgrades include new 1,900 sf locker room and dugout extensions for both Softball and Baseball. Additionally, the Tennis facilities will be relocated to be adjacent to other outdoor sports and will feature a new 1,300sf structure including an office, storage areas, and public toilet rooms. This expansion aims to enhance the athletic programs at Plano West Senior High School, improve the spectator experience, and provide athletes with modernized training environments.
