Lewisville ISD Bluebonnet Elementary School
Bluebonnet Elementary School is Lewisville ISD’s 20-year refresh project. Originally built in 2000, the existing school had outlived its life-cycle on many of its finishes and infrastructure. The renovation of the school sought out to update all the interior finishes, kitchen equipment, stage and theater lighting, plumbing and electrical fixtures, technology and teaching walls, roofing, RTUs, and to provide some campus specific alterations. Those alterations included; door configurations for ADA clearances, splitting of spaces to create multiple program uses, and Special Education configurations. The new interior finishes bring a bright, new palette to the campus that were selected during multiple design meetings. These meetings focused on finding a palette that complimented the existing school design and the campus’ culture. We focused on school colors with areas of bright, bold tile patterns to highlight public wet walls. Inside the classrooms; each room got new LVT flooring, acoustic ceiling tiles, LED lighting, doors, millwork, technology, and teach walls.
